601 Forest Avenue Temple Block Building

601 Forest Avenue, also known as the Temple Block Building, is located at the corner of Forest Avenue and 6th Avenue. The structure serves as a showcase for NDC’s mixed-use development strategy.  Originally built in 1895, the building deteriorated badly over the years and was cited as a public nuisance.

Redeveloped by NDC, the building underwent extensive renovation in 2003, creating 13,800 square feet of both residential and commercial space.  The first floor offers five commercial bays.  Seven apartment units are located on the building’s second floor.

The Temple Block Building is now on the National Register for Historic Places.
