6th Avenue Revitalization

The 6th Avenue corridor lies between the Des Moines River boundary to the north and Interstate 235 to the south. As part of this revitalization plan, NDC began a three-phase development project in the “Wherry Block” located at 6th Avenue and College Avenue.

601 Forest Avenue Temple Block Building

601 Forest Avenue, also known as the Temple Block Building, is located at the corner of Forest Avenue and 6th Avenue. The structure serves as a showcase for the NDC’s mixed-use development strategy as well as historic preservation/rehabilitation.
